Allow me to reintroduce myself.

Hi, I'm Christine.

I haven't posted here in a couple of weeks? So this site has been quieter than a gym at 8pm on a Friday night.

If you’ve been around these parts a while, you may know me as a strength coach.

If you’re a little newer, you probably know me as the person who is in marketing and helps with email deliverability (I help emails not go to spam).

Either way, I’m still Christine.

(Just these days I do more DMARC authentication than deadlifts.)

So, here's 10 things to catch you up.

1. I Became a (Copy)writer Because of a Silly Drunk Email

When I was 24, my career plan was simple: Learn marketing then sell myself as an online strength coach.

The nugget gods laughed and had other plans…

I sent one bold intro email (liquid courage may have been involved)…

To see if I could develop the writing chops to be able to sell my online coaching service.

And a marketing company hired me on the spot… No experience, no clue what I was doing…

I went on to write for 30+ clients. Some of that work helped people land intros with Nike, Zara, and Adidas.

2. I Went From Tech Dino to Running Tech Departments

Five years ago, I accidentally deleted my website (don't ever click big red buttons) because I was a complete tech dino…

Now I head departments in tech.

I am not a developer and can barely write a line of code…

But it turns out honest and curious beats a smooth-talking know-it-all every time.

3. I’ve Coached 90-Year-Olds to Competitive Athletes

Before tech, I was a strength coach with a master's in kinesiology.

I trained everyone from competitive powerlifters to 90-year-old grannies wanting to walk again after falling.

I even coached a Special Olympics powerlifter without sight to win the world championships (the highlight of my coaching career).

4. I'm a Newbie Runner Who Fired My Fancy Garmin Watch

After 3 months of being strapped down to my Garmin watch, we broke up…

I felt like I was dating someone who always had something to complain about and contradicted themselves a lot…

"Listen to your body"…

Great, I feel amazing!

“Let your body recover”..."You've had a stressful day"…

Maybe because I was riding rollercoasters at Tivoli in Copenhagen all day?

So instead, I use a Polar H10 chest strap that only covers key metrics I need (i.e. pace time, distance, heart rate, zones) and remove all the fluff and negativity from my Garmin watch.

Plus, no more charging the flipping thing every couple of days…

I only need to replace the battery 1x/year (which is a nice change from all the gadgets and tools we need to charge in this day and age).

5. My Bedtime Stories Are Fitness Textbooks

When I told my mentors that I was leaving kinesiology… No one believed me because of my insane obsession with exercise program design.

Just because I no longer earn my living from plyometrics, pushups and PNF stretching doesn’t mean I left my love of the iron and the human body behind though.

I’ll HAPPILY crack open a training textbook when I settle into bed… and then finish the book at 3am because I’m so intrigued…

6. I'm An Introvert Until The Curiosity Kicks In

After a big outing, I need to be locked in a room alone to recharge.

But if you spark my curiosity… I won't have an off switch for asking 113 questions…

Good luck ending that conversation.

7. Two strangers talked me into Moving to Austria.

I spent my 20s playing it safe.

Same hometown for nearly 30 years. Same routine for a decade.

Then my 20s started running out.

And I remembered the promise I made to 20-year-old Christine.

I told her I would take real chances and go see the world.

So when two people I met on Twitter told me to come live in their country, I said yes.

(That’s a story for another time.)

At 29 I packed up and moved to Austria.

Hope you're proud, little Christine.

8. My Whole Life Fits in a Carry-On

I'm a minimalist, but for function, not for the aesthetic.

If something in my carry-on doesn't earn its keep, sayonara!

I pinky promise this rule is for objects, not people.

Except LEGO. Especially my Frozen Olaf LEGO. No touchie!

9. Do No Harm Is Career Rule #1 for Me

From interning with 90-year-olds to helping 8-figure businesses, one motto follows me everywhere.

Do no harm.

I never leave a relationship having done more harm than good.

My mentors call that my superpower. They call it care.

10. I Once Got Cut Off at an All-You-Can-Eat Nugget Night

I'm 5 foot nothing. But back in my powerlifting days, my stomach carried a secret black hole compartment for chicken nuggets.

They tapped out before I did (BTW, I got cut off at 40 and needed 10 more to be satisfied).

That's me, Christine.

Now your turn.

What should I know about you?
